Unfortunately, due to the fact that Craig has been unwell today,we have had to take the decision to cancel the cheese & wine section of tomorrow nights get together. The Quiz will still go ahead starting at 8.15pm as previously arranged but as the idea was to fundraise, the cost will revert to £2.50 per person/£10 per team,as it has been in previous quizzes. (I understand there will be prizes!).
From a health and safety point of view we dont feel comfortable with Craig presenting food as it seems he has had some sort of virus which we would hate to be passed on to others. If he is not well enough to come to host the quiz Allen will take over.
We will do our best to re-schedule the cheese & wine tasting for another evening in the near future.
Apologies for the change of plans but please come along to the Quiz and have a great evening.
Regards
Debbie

As part of the continuing Centenary celebrations for EMCo there will be a social/fundraising event this coming Saturday 13th March in the form of an informal "Local Cheese & Wine" tasting session/presentation, by our very own Craig Butler, followed by a Centenary Quiz.
This is taking place at the Manor Hotel from 7.30pm. It will be £5 for the Cheese & Wine tasting and then a further £1 per person to enter the Quiz.
It should be a really enjoyable evening and it would be great to see as many of you there as possible along with family members and friends.

Time is ticking: We need your help!
Exmouth Musical Theatre Company is urgently looking for a chess competition clock for its forthcoming production of Chess.
Director, David Youll said: “We really need a clock for our production of Chess in May and we’re hoping someone will be able to let us borrow one. We’re appealing to the local chess clubs and to everyone in Exmouth – we really need your help!”
Rehearsals for Chess are now in full swing, but with only a few weeks to go, time is running out to find one of the elusive chess clocks!
The musical, from the composers of the hit show Mamma Mia, follows the Cold War rivalry of two chess champions - one American, one Russian - as they vie for the world championship and a woman's heart. Florence, the assistant to American champion Freddie Trumper, and the Russian Anatoly embark on a love affair that packs in great vocals and lots of emotion.
Chess includes the popular songs ‘I Know Him So Well’ and ‘One Night In Bangkok’. Music is by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus (formerly of ABBA), with lyrics by Sir Tim Rice. The show is Directed by David Youll and Lynne Caygill is the Musical Director.
Chess will be performed by Exmouth Musical Theatre Company from Wednesday 27th May to Saturday 30th May (Wednesday to Friday at 7.30pm and Saturday at 7.00pm, with matinee performances on the Thursday and Saturday at 2.30pm).
Tickets will be £10.50 for flat seating; £12.50 for raised seating, and can be bought at Exmouth Pavilion’s box office, on 01395 222477 or ordered online at www.ledleisure.co.uk

This is the review by the National Operatic and Dramatic Association, for our 2008 performance; 'NO SONG UNSONG':
Exmouth Pavillion | November | Director/Choreographer: Debbie Butler | MD: Lynne Caygill
After a successful summer production, hotly on its heels came the now essential find boosting musical evening. A perfect showcase for the equally talented members of the company who missed out on principal roles previously. As the title suggests, songs from a varied collection of well known musicals were performed, older favourites in act one, culminating in some of the most stirring work of the evening., in act two's modern segment. First night nerves contributed to a tepid start, quickly warming to positively hot, hot, hot, with energetic, concientious movement and memorable vocals, which included an unaccompanied version of 'I Dreamed a Dream' performed by the whole company, its harmonic accuracy was congratulatory achievement and pure joy to hear. With elegance, the company drifted into the excellent staging, devised to suit the mood and genre of the music, none appearing to seem anything other than 'at home'. A thoroughly entertaining evening, much to the audience's enjoyment.

Following an audition call for a part in Exmouth Musical Theatre Company’s forthcoming production of Chess, the company is pleased to announce that two boys have been selected to play the part.
Performing in three scenes, Sam Gooding, 8, and Ben Mellor, 8, will be making their acting debuts in Chess later this spring. Both boys attend Withycombe Raleigh Primary School and are in the same year, albeit in different classes.
And with music by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, formerly of ABBA, and lyrics by Sir Tim Rice, it promises not to disappoint! The show will be directed by David Youll and Lynne Caygill is the musical director.
Chess will be appearing at Exmouth Pavilion from Wednesday 27th May to Saturday 30th May 2009.
