How did you prepare for your audition?

I listened to the soundtrack over and over again, I also watched YouTube clips so that I could see how others had performed the role as well as listening to the vocals.

EMCo-Evita2016-2016-09-22smallWhat’s the most challenging part about your role?

It's a very emotional story that unfortunately is very close to my own heart. I therefore want to portray it correctly and do it the justice that it deserves.

jojo4What’s the funniest things that’s happened in rehearsal?

Trying to learn a dance routine with Lance...1 2 3, 2 2 3, back 2 3 oops wrong way, 1 2 3.....

What’s the scariest thing that has happened to you in any performance/rehearsal?

Standing in front of the company singing the songs for the first time - very scary!

2013LSoH24Which musical theatre performer do you admire and why?

I admire anyone who can get up on the stage and perform in front of an audience - especially doing it in front of their own children!

EMCo-Evita2016-2016-11-22smallWho is the funniest person in the cast and why?

My husband Dave is the funniest person in the cast. (NB This answer was given by Jo's husband Dave)

Apart from performing, what’s another skill that you have?

I like involving myself with the behind the scenes work as well performing, so I co-ordinate the costumes and also help with the set making which I love

It's got to be the Thursday night when all of my come to see the show - it's so nice to have family support and they help out so much during rehearsals with child care and encouragement that it feels good when you can perform the best that you can to say thank you.

EMCo-Evita2016-FacebookProfile13Why should people come and watch the show?

Its an amazing story with an extremely talented company. It takes you on a journey with real highs and lows - definitely not one to be missed!

3rd - 6th June 2020 at 7.30pm plus Sat Matinee at 2.30pm at Exmouth Pavilion

Set in Chicago during the roaring "jazz hot" 20s, the musical tells the story of two rival vaudeville murderesses who’ve been locked up in Cook County jail.

It’s a story of murder, greed, corruption, violence, exploitation, adultery, and treachery – all the things we hold near and dear to our hearts. It is hunger for fame, media spectacles, fake news and trial by publicity. Set almost a full century ago, the plot is timeless, the music (All That Jazz, Razzle Dazzle and Cell Block Tango to name a few) sensational, and when it all comes together, it promises to be a tour de force Exmouth will not soon forget.

Tickets are currently available via the box office at Exmouth Pavilion or by calling 01395 222 477 ~ online sales will open soon!
